Nursing home residents have patient rights and certain protections under the law. First on the list: residents have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. In this DVD, residents speak out to addresses this fundamental right of all residents. Respect means to them: maintaining independence; responsive care; assistance where and when required; having choices; opportunities to engage in life; and being appreciated as a person.
