  • Beginning with Bong: Meet six kids with different special needs as they talk about their lives and friends and go about a 'normal' school day. "Life's not always a bowl of cherries for me, but I try to live as normal a life as I can. I mean, I am a normal person."
  • Bong & Donnell: As seen on HBO, this documentary tracks the life of Bong, who never lets his wheelchair define him, and his best friend Donnell through their turbulent lives from elementary school to high school.
  • Sarah's Graduation: Recognized as a class leader and eagerly preparing for college, Sarah accepts her CP but doesn't let it isolate her. "I've grown up a lot. I'm able to deal with society. I don't get upset when someone stares," says Sarah. "High school is...you get treated like an adult, it's a nice feeling. It's a grown-up feeling."
  • Rachael, Being Five: This documentary follows a year in the life of five year-old Rachael, who has cerebral palsy and attends a mainstream school. While this sweet little girl may need a wheelchair to get around, it's Rachael's charming smile that makes her special.
  • Rachael, In Middle School: In this follow-up program, Rachael juggles her school work, homework and curious classmates while navigating these difficult early teen years. Though she admits to sometimes feeling overwhelmed like every other teenager, Rachael charges through with her winning smile.
  • Shakissha and Friends: In this program, Shakissha moves from a school for children with special needs to a mainstream 4th grade class. Her new class gets ready to welcome her by doing exercises that help them understand she is mostly the same as them. "I want the them to think I was a regular kid, because I don't like when they think I'm a handicapped kid because I really don't like being handicapped."

Any of the individual programs included in the Stars of Inclusion series may be purchased separately for $150 each.

09/23/10 - Is your staff ready for MDS 3.0?

Video Press DVDs for staff education address many areas prioritized in MDS 3.0, the newest version of the Minimum Data Set scheduled to be implemented nationwide on October 1st. As a vanguard in recognizing the importance of the resident’s voice, we offer many titles where residents speak about pain, their rights, their independence and dignity as well as other aspects of their care. These DVDs can serve as a model for interviewing residents and to show the importance of hearing the resident’s voice. Perspectives of the Elderly Titles »

Many of the competency areas in our 2010 catalog directly relate to MDS 3.0 including titles on pain, skin care, feeding, ADLs, function and infections. Many of our titles include demonstrations and patient vignettes. These videos not only impart vital information in an easy to understand interactive discussion format, they also are a great baseline for subsequent training sessions. Care Competencies Titles »

DVD Video training has many advantages over workshops. Our videos are based on reality; filmed in long-term care facilities with long-term care staff. We are able to provide discussions lead by national leaders and experts and present real long-term care residents which have been selected for their ability to speak not only for themselves but also for their fellow residents. Also by professionally editing hours of footage, we are able to condense day-long training sessions into a concise 20 minute format--excellent for presentation to staff groups.

We encourage you to browse our online catalog and view our video clips. You’ll find many of our programs relate specifically to your MDS 3.0 training needs. Elder Care Titles »
