Medication management is not always the only answer to pain problems. Medications can be used with other interventions to maximize pain relief. Repositioning, conversation, a massage or even providing an extra pillow often makes all the difference for a resident experiencing pain. Residents and staff share with Dr. Wertheimer non-pharmacologic pain management approaches that should be incorporated in all care.
